Review of Carmex

Carmex comes in different travel sizes. They are cheap, easy to use and they are sold in almost all major stores such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens, CVS, and so on. They are also sold in many countries, not just the USA.

Active Ingredients

The active ingredients in Carmex lip balm are:

  • Menthol 0.7% for anti itch (this is the prominent smell of the Carmex lip balm)
  • Camphor 1.7% for analgesic
  • Phenol 0.4% for anesthetic

Carmex helps to provide relief of the symptoms of cold sores and dry chapped lips. It does not have SPF 15 or any SPF ingredients so it is not for sun protection. It will moisturize your lips while other lip balms cannot though. If your lips tend to get allergic, then you might want to go easy on using the Carmex to make sure that you are not allergic to it. Few people claim that they are allergic to Carmex.
